Best of Belmondo in 'Optimum Screen Icons'

Another in the excellent ‘Optimum Screen Icons’ series is Jean-Paul Belmondo (€44.99), viewed by many as one of the main faces of the French New Wave.

Belmondo’s cool screen presence, as doomed thief Michel Poiccard, endeared him to French audiences in Jean-Luc Godard’s A Bout de Souffle (included as well), but his gangster charm also encompassed roles in the thrillers, ‘Le Professional’, and ‘A Double Tour’, ‘Pierrot Le Fou’ and ‘Stavisky’, where he played a Russian emigre who builds a fortune through fraud.
