Actress Lohan 'at pool party' after arrest

Actress Lindsay Lohan continued to party over the holiday weekend, despite being arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to US reports today.

Police said investigators found what they believe is cocaine at the scene of a car crash in which Miss Lohan suffered minor injuries on Saturday.

But on Sunday she attended a Memorial Day pool party for 944 magazine at Hollywood’s Roosevelt Hotel, the New York Post reported.

She was also pictured apparently asleep or passed out in the passenger seat of her DJ friend Samantha Ronson’s car later that morning.

Miss Lohan dropped her sunglasses and cigarettes on her way out of the hotel, then collapsed when she bent to pick them up and a bouncer lifted her into the car, the paper reported.

On Saturday, the 20-year-old and two other people were in her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 when it crashed on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles at about 5.30am.

Lieutenant Mitch McCann said officers at the scene found a “usable amount” of a drug tentatively identified as cocaine. He declined to say where the drug was found other than to say Miss Lohan was not carrying it.

Miss Lohan, who spent time at a rehabilitation centre earlier this year, was driven in another car to hospital for treatment for minor injuries, Mr McCann said.

The two other people in her car were not hurt.

Officers received an emergency call about the accident and arrested Miss Lohan at the hospital for investigation of misdemeanour driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, he said.

She was released from custody because she was admitted to hospital, he added.

A source close to the actress told showbiz website People.com: “The police intervening ... could be the best thing for her. I think she’ll have to do a real rehab this time, and not just a Hollywood rehab.”

Miss Lohan’s spokesman did not return requests for a comment.
