Container will stretch your patience

Lukas Moodysson has brought an exciting range of drama to the screen, and whatever your views of the Swedish auteur’s Lilya 4-Ever and Together, the word dull can’t be in your vocabulary.

But Container (Metrodome, €24.99) does stretch your patience. Its monochrome images and narration (the two stars don’t speak) are not easy to take, while his meditation on our inner selves is depicted in the weird form of a fat man and thin Asian woman, whom he carries around on his back.

An accompanying featurette looks at a special art installation created by Moodysson, interspersed with his introduction to the film.

Amusingly, three critics then check out the art and give their views on the work.
