Police uncover plot to extort millions from Yoko Ono
Yoko Ono has been rescued from an extortion plot planned by her driver.
Investigators claim the singer and artist was the target of Koral Karson, who would bug her car in an effort to tape private conversations he could later use to blackmail her.
Detectives in New York accuse the driver of trying to extort millions from John Lennon's widow, threatening to go public with her private comments unless she paid up. Ono went to the police.
A former Turkish army officer, Karson was arrested by police at his home in Amityville, Long Island, and arraigned yesterday.
