Lily Allen forgets words during performance
Singer Lily Allen forgot the words to one of her own songs last night – while Coldplay star Chris Martin was in the audience.
The 21-year-old was performing Everything’s Just Wonderful from her best-selling album when the lyrics to the tune suddenly eluded her.
Allen launched into another of her favourite musical numbers instead, after joking with fans about the mishap at the London venue, Islington’s Union Chapel.
Eventually the words came back to the young star, while an assistant was also printing off the lyrics after finding them on the internet.
A spokesman for the singer said: “She and the audience had a laugh about it.
“It was an acoustic show so the musical triggers were different to when she’s performing with her band.”
Outspoken Allen enjoyed a Number One selling debut single Smile and a best-selling album – Alright, Still – after building an online fanbase.
Other audience members at the venue were said to have included her father - Robin Hood star and comedian Keith Allen – and singer James Morrison.
