One of the most off-centre films of the year, and one that delivers fun and laughter all the way through.

Black and Gass – who wrote the screenplay – play a couple of musicians who form a band – the Tenacious D of the title – with the ambition of it being the world’s greatest.

To achieve such lofty heights they must lay their hands on the magical guitar pick in a distant rock ‘n roll museum.

It’s simply a lot of fun and the film is made more interesting by the cameos provided by the likes of Robbins, Stiller, Hanks and Meat Loaf.
