Winslet warns press to back off

Kate Winslet has threatened British journalists she will attack them if they ever report she is a bad mother again.

The actress was targetted by an unsympathetic press when she split from first husband Jim Threapleton in 2000 when their daughter Mia was still a baby.

She was accused of abandoning Mia and is still scarred by the experience.

Winslet says: "People can throw anything at me they want, and be as mean as they like, but don't mess with me as a mother, because I will come after you.

"It's really not fair. It's a vulnerable time. I was very young - I was 25. It was really, really hard."
