Record company 'will not drop' George Michael

Record label BMG have rubbished claims they will drop troubled singer George Michael after his arrest last week.

The former Wham frontman, who was caught slumped in a stupor in his car, was arrested for the second time this year for possessing marijuana.

But he has the "full support" of his record label, and will not be sacked.

"We'd never tell him what to do," said an insider at the label "We never bully our artists. If there was a time when record companies did that, it is long gone.

"We rang him up to ask if there's anything we could do, but that's it. We're backing him in his personal life and his decisions. He has our full support.

"We're not going to sack him, we're supporting him."
