Hammond transferred to a general ward

Top Gears, Richard Hammond has been transferred from a high-dependency unit to a general ward according to hospital officials.

The TV host who was airlifted for medical treatment after a horrific three-hundred miles per hour crash last week is now well enough to chat and share a joke with his family.

His wife Mindy through a statement has said that Richard would now rather that fans make a donation the Yorkshire Air Ambulance as opposed to sending flowers and other gifts to the hospital.

Meanwhile executives at the BBC have decided not to broadcast the new series of Top Gear until Richard is in a position to re-join his fellow presenters James May and Jeremy Clarkson.
