Miami Vice fails to excite

The much-anticipated big screen re-make of the popular l980s TV series turns out to be something less than expected.

With Farrell playing Sonny Crockett and Foxx playing Ricardo Tubbs, the two slickly stylish cops, we had wished for something a bit special.

What we get is just another, quite ordinary undercover cops getting into trouble story. OK, so there’s plenty of fast and furious action but the real problem lies in the performances: Farrell, for instance, just doesn’t cut it as Crockett.

At best it’s an indifferent run-of-the-mill caper movie.
