Screen beauty Penelope Cruz was in town for the premiere of her new film Volver.
And the Spanish actress became the latest celebrity to report a sighting of Tom Cruise’s baby daughter Suri.
Mystery has surrounded the birth of Suri, who has not been seen in public since Katie Holmes gave birth more than three months ago.
But Cruz, who dated the Mission Impossible actor for three years until their split in 2004, said the baby was doing fine.
“I have met her, she’s really beautiful. She’s one of the most beautiful babies I’ve ever seen.
“They are very happy and doing great,” she said.
Last month Will Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett-Smith also said she had paid the family a visit.
Cruz, 32, attended the UK premiere at London’s Curzon Mayfair cinema in a pink lace dress by Carolina Herrera.
Earlier this week she was pictured partying on P Diddy’s yacht in St Tropez with Paris Hilton and the Duchess of York.
She said: “It was fun and crazy. I don’t party too much but that night I was on holiday. I’ve known Diddy for a while since we worked together on a campaign and became friends.”
Other celebrities on the red carpet included Cate Blanchett and Thandie Newton.
Volver reunites Cruz with director Pedro Almodovar.
Her role as a wife and mother has been tipped for an Oscar nomination.
“I loved every second of this movie. Pedro has given me the most important character of my life,” she said.
Almodovar said he had based Cruz’s character on the role played in the 1950s by Sophia Loren.
“I wanted a beautiful housewife like Sophia Loren in the Italian role in the Fifties.
“That’s the image I had in mind. Penelope is gorgeous,” he said.
The film is released nationwide on August 25.
