Kaneswaren favourite to win You’re a Star special

Bookmakers Paddy Power have today tipped model Gail Kaneswaren to win this year’s You’re a Star charity special, at odds of 7/2.

Travel babe Kathryn Thomas hot on her heels at 4/1. Further down the field are band ‘The Politicians’ at 10/1. The four politicians are Dan Boyle (Green Party), Michael McCarthy (Lab), Frank Feighan (FG) and Billy Kelleher (FF).

The ten acts taking part will be singing for the public vote and hoping to stay in the competition to raise money for their chosen charities

The show will start on Saturday July 29 and will run for nine nights over two weeks on Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. The public will be able to vote off one act each night.

“Gail is the favourite because of her superstar sister Hazel but don’t rule out The Politicians,” said a Paddy Power spokesperson “We’re sure they’ll drum up plenty of support, and it will be interesting to see which party TD will be the lead singer.”
