Peel honoured with Home Truths book
Late broadcasting legend John Peel is to be the subject of a new book based on his celebrated BBC Radio 4 series Home Truths.
The pioneering DJ, who died in 2004 from a heart attack, entertained listeners across the UK and beyond with his wry family-based show, and publisher John Murray insists it is time the broadcasts were honoured.
He says: "We're hoping to get John's widow, Shaila, on board to endorse the book. The show became as much a reflection of John and Sheila's lives as it was of their listeners.
"The book will be called Home Truths: The Peel Years And Beyond."
