Lil' Kim gets early release from jail

Rapper Lil' Kim is to be released from jail early.

The star - was locked up for a year and a day last September for lying about a shootout outside a hip-hop radio station - will be let out on Monday for good behaviour.

Her lawyer said: "She has accepted responsibility and handled herself in an exemplary manner." In a statement, the Grammy award-winning rapper said: "I am thrilled to be coming home."

Lil' Kim will have to remain under house arrest for 30 days as a condition of her release.
