Doherty seen with tourniquet on flight
Troubled rocker Pete Doherty stunned passengers on a flight on Thursday after emerging from the toilet with a leather belt strapped around his bleeding arm.
Witnesses watched in horror as the self-confessed drug addict loosened the tourniquet as he wandered down the aisle past a group of children on a school trip.
The Babyshambles singer was detained onboard the flight from London to Barcelona after a bloody syringe was found in the toilet by the crew, according to easyJet spokeswoman Samantha Day.
Doherty and his bandmates were en route to perform at a festival in the Spanish city last night.
London local politician Steve Reed, a passenger on the flight, says, "It astonishes me that he can get on a low-cost airline used by Joe Public and act like the usual rules do not apply to him.
"As soon as the flight took off he went to the toilet and he was there for at least 15 minutes.
"When he came out he had a belt tied around his arm which he started removing. He didn't look like he cared who saw."
Babyshambles have since been banned from flying with the budget airline.
Doherty has been arrested for a number of drug related offences in Britain.
He pleaded guilty to seven counts of drug possession in April and was sentenced to undertake community service with a two-year supervision order and 18 months of drug rehab.
