Kylie saddened by nuclear plan

Kylie Minogue is furious after hearing Australian nuclear chiefs plan to build a plant on the same island where the pop beauty purchased land last year.

Minogue and her family bought an idyllic retreat on French Island, off the coastline of her home state of Victoria, and plan to build a lavish home on the 100 hectare estate.

However, local mayor Neville Goodwin says the island is being eyed as a possible base for a nuclear plant.

Minogue's father Ron has already begun researching the impact a possible plant would have on the local flora and fauna.

A source tells British newspaper The Sun: "Kylie was stunned and so sad when she got the news. She thought by choosing a remote island she could build a dream holiday ranch to just get away from everything."
