British pop star Robbie Williams plans to quit performing after his 2006 world tour.

The former Take That star sets off from South Africa on April 6 and closes the tour in Australia on December 6, at which point Williams says he will take a break from live performances.

“I'm not going to tour for a long time after this tour,” said Williams. “For me this tour is a year-long celebration of what I've achieved as a solo artist.”

“It comes in the form of getting on stage in stadiums.

“After that I'll say thank you very much. It's not something I want to do again for a long time.”
