New World is better than expected
Maybe it’s the small screen, or I’m losing my critical faculties, but Terence Malick’s The New World (EIV, €24.99) shines better than expected.
The love story of John Smith (Colin Farrell) and the Indian Pochahontas (the stunning Q’orianka Kilcher) is retold with a smashing cast of Christian Bale, Colin Farrell and Christopher Plummer, and in the hands of Malick this sweeping tale of early American history moves along at a good pace.
It’s not a classic, but it is engaging enough without hitting the high spots.
