The Da Vinci Code blockbuster thriller does not infringe the copyright of a book published in 2000 by another author because the books are not substantially similar, a US appeal court has ruled.

The 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals in New York issued a five-page order this week which upheld the decision by US District Judge George Daniels in favour of author Dan Brown.
