Jay-Z finally accepts industry accolades

Rapper Shawn 'Jay-Z' Carter is delighted to be recognised as the greatest MC of all time, despite spending years fighting the music industry and its plaudits.

The 99 Problems star, who is dating R&B superstar Beyonce Knowles, ranked top of MTV's Greatest MCs Of All Time list recently - beating out competition from Eminem, Rakim and Big Daddy Kane.

He tells MTV: "I'm not an artist. I'm a hustler. The industry didn't accept me right away - I felt it was my enemy.

"But as the years went by and I came to make friends in the industry and feel more accepted, every time something like this happens, it's a great thing for me."
