Bacon and Firth keep viewer interested in sexy thriller

Colin Firth and Kevin Bacon play two entertainers, Vince Collins and Lanny Morris, whose partnership comes under irreversible strain when a woman’s body turns up in their hotel bedroom in Where The Truth Lies (Momentum, 24.99).

Decades later a young writer Karen O’Connor (Alison Lohman) is commissioned to write an exposé on the duo and sparks an explosive response.

Atom Egoyan’s direction leaves some gaps in this sexy thriller, and the character of Karen is espeicially weak, but there’s enough to maintain interest thanks to Bacon and Firth.
