Des Bishop apologises for comments to audience member
Comedian Des Bishop has apologised for any offence caused by comments he made during a recent performance in Limerick.
The "Joy in the Hood" presenter asked a noisy member of the audience at the University Concert Hall if they had Tourettes syndrome when they began swearing at him.
It transpired that the individual was confined to a wheelchair and suffered from an intellectual disability.
Mr Bishop said he thought he was dealing with a heckler when he posed the question in front of the audience.
He said he felt terrible when he realised the truth of the situation and said he is very sorry for his comments.
