Partridge movie postponed
British funnyman Steve Coogan's big screen project Alan Partridge: The Movie has been postponed indefinitely after complications with the script.
The comedy - which centres around Coogan's hapless British TV alter-ego - was scheduled to be released early next year, but the fictional radio DJ's stab at Hollywood stardom is set to be delayed for at least another year.
Coogan and co-writer Patrick Maber have been forced to re-write the script after proposals for a fictional al-Qaida siege storyline caused controversey in the wake of the 7/7 London bombings.
Actress Amelia Bullmore, who was set to play Partridge's Ukrainian girlfriend Sonja, says: "I'm not sure it's going ahead now.
"There was a lot of talk about it last year, but then the London bombings happened and it got put to one side.
"I'm sure Steve will write an Alan Partridge film eventually, but for the moment I don't think it's happening.
Coogan's production company Baby Cow confirm: "The movie will happen, but as there's no script yet, it won't be anytime soon."
