The funeral of award-winning writer John McGahern will take place in Leitrim later today.

The funeral of award-winning writer John McGahern will take place in Leitrim later today.

He died in hospital in Dublin on Thursday at the age of 71.

Hundreds of mourners are expected to attend the service at St Patrick's Church in Aughawillan at midday.
