Doherty gets advice from Townshend

Pete Doherty has received some wise words from a rock and roll star with a tad more experience behind him.

The Who’s Pete Townshend has branded Doherty “the ultimate rock ’n’ roll nihilist”.

Guitarist and former hellraiser Townshend said: “It is important we acknowledge that this business loves to kill people.”

Townshend, 60, said Doherty and supermodel Kate Moss should get help if their problems spiral out of control: “I don’t know Pete but I know Kate quite well, and I think they know how to get help when they need it.”
