Sophie Scholl film is hard to resist

A harrowing true story about the gallant anti-Nazi resistance of the Munich student group known as White Rose.

Jentsch is compelling as Scholl, bravely standing against the evil regime after the work of her group was discovered in l943 and during their imprisonment by the Gestapo and subsequent execution.

It is interesting to note that most of the recent and honest outstanding films examining the Second World War from the German point of view have come from Germany.
