Christians urge people to see Narnia movie
British church leaders are urging families to see new Disney movie The chronicles of Narnia: The lion, the witch and the wardrobe, because it promotes Christian values.
In addition churches across the UK are being encouraged to organise a range of Narnia based activities, including parties and plays, which will teach children the importance of Christmas and the message behind it.
A church in Kent, England, is giving away 10,000 tickets to single parent families so they can go to see the film over the festive season.
A Methodist spokesman says: "Churches are encouraged to explore this theme by engaging with the journey of Lucy, Edmund, Peter and Susan, as through the wardrobe they enter a world of ice and snow where it is always winter, but never Christmas.
"Congregations are asked to consider what the world would be like if Christmas never came and are reminded of the importance of the gift we are given at Christmas, past present and future."
The world premiere of the C S Lewis adaptation will be at The Royal Albert Hall in London on 7 December.
