Andre song 'more irritating than Crazy Frog'
Peter Andre’s Mysterious Girl is the song most people would like to see banned, according to a new survey.
The track, which has been released twice, was deemed even more irritating than The Crazy Frog and the Mr Blobby tune.
Mysterious Girl first hit the charts in 1996 but was catapulted back into the charts after singer Andre’s stint on I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!
The tune went straight to number one in March last year following his appearance on the ITV1 reality show, where he met Jordan, now his wife.
The Crazy Frog, which outsold Coldplay’s new track when it was released in May, came second in the list of tunes which should be banned.
It is followed in third place by the Mr Blobby tune by Noel Edmonds’ pink and yellow fictional character, which was a Christmas Number One hit in 1993.
Black Lace’s Agadoo, which reached number two in 1984, is fourth in the terrible tunes list.
The band, also behind the much maligned Superman, formed for the 1979 Eurovision Song Contest but reformed as a duo in 1983.
Macarena by Spanish group Los Del Rio, which was number two in the chart for 19 weeks, is fifth.
Teletubbies Say Eh Oh, the song from the children’s TV show, came sixth, and Barbie Girl by Scandinavian pop-dance band Aqua seventh.
Let’s Get Ready to Rhumble, sung by Ant and Dec, then PJ and Duncan, came eighth followed by former children’s presenter Timmy Mallet’s Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini.
The song, produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber, entered the UK charts at number 23 before shooting to number 1 in the summer of 1990.
The survey of 1,000 people was carried out for 3 Mobile.
