Garfunkel charged with marijuana possession
Singer Art Garfunkel has been charged with possessing marijuana again after police reportedly discovered a joint in the ashtray of his car on Sunday night.
The 63-year-old was flagged down by police in upstate New York after he failed to acknowledge a stop sign, and a strong odour of cannabis surrounded his vehicle when the officers approached it, reports local newspaper The Daily Freeman Of Kingston.
The Bridge over troubled water star was issued with a ticket and will attend Woodstock Town Court on September 22.
Garfunkel was charged with marijuana possession in January 2004 when his limousine was stopped for speeding and investigating officers found a small amount of cannabis in his jacket pocket.
Garfunkel pleaded guilty to the charges and was ordered to pay a $200 (€164) fine.
