Keating cuts golf celebrations short as Yvonne goes into labour

Ronan Keating was given the news that his wife has gone into labour at the moment his team romped home to victory in this weekend’s celebrity golf tournament.

As he teed off this morning he thanked his wife for not having yet had their baby so that he could compete in the two day event in Newport, south Wales.

And he and team mate Damien Lewis played the final winning shots for the Europeans the news was coming through that his wife was on her way to the maternity ward.

The team was celebrating their win after a tense final hour as each team reached the eighteenth hole.

Keating and Damian Lewis playing against Michael Douglas and Mark Spitz were the last team to reach the final stage.

The teams were separated by just a few points when Lewis putted the winning shot to take the European team to victory with 91 points to the American team’s 89.
