Perfect Locklear doesn't quite match up
The Perfect Man
Suspend your belief that the sexy Locklear can’t find and keep a man and this romantic comedy seems passable … trouble is, the laughter comes when it shouldn’t and the entire project falls apart.
Duff plays a teenager who hates having to move to the next location when her mother (Locklear) runs foul of another lover.
She invents an on-line perfect man who woos with flowers and gifts … until the smitten mum reckons it’s time to meet her wonderful secret lover.
Daughter has to borrow a friend’s uncle (Noth) and keep coming up with reasons to persuade mum it’s for real.
Interestingly, the basic idea is a good one but it’s not followed through.
It could have been a much sharper, more sophisticated film, but it ends up as an ill-considered and extremely weak one.
