Producers seek more investment in domestic film and TV
Film and TV producers are to present a list of demands to the Oireachtas communications committee this afternoon for consideration in the forthcoming Broadcasting Bill.
Speaking ahead of the submission, the Screen Producers Ireland organisation said it wanted RTÉ to invest more of its TV licence receipts in home-grown feature films.
It also said it wanted quotas set for locally produced children's programming and animation and protections relating to the ownership of programme rights.
Spokesperson James Hickey said: "What we want is a fair deal for independent television production companies with RTÉ."
