Desperate Housewives expected to score at Emmys
Desperate Housewives is expected to pick up several Emmy nominations tomorrow.
The show, which has proved a hit on both sides of the Atlantic, is tipped to give US network ABC its best showing at the television awards for years.
The programme has been entered as a comedy, so is expected to benefit from the end of Friends and Sex And The City, which ended last year.
Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry said the series is more of a drama, but added "we're a weird fit wherever you put us".
Other comedies that could be competing head-to-head with Desperate Housewives is last year's winner Arrested Development, and the final series of Everybody Loves Raymond.
The Emmy Awards ceremony will take place in Los Angeles on September 18.
