Quick-witted Kemal earned the treat as he successfully completed a general knowledge task with a twist.

He had to give the answer to the previous question as Big Brother fired 10 posers to him. Kemal answered nine questions correctly and won video messages for all of the group.

The belly dancer burst into tears of relief when a supportive message came from his parents despite his fears they would be upset by revelations about his sexuality.

The blubbering set off Vanessa and Derek who also shed a tear or two.

Later, Tory speechwriter Derek told Kemal: “I just wanted to say how proud I am of you. It was so touching.”

An emotional Kemal replied: “That was much more than I thought I’d ever get. That was the most amazing thing ever.”

Anthony beamed at the message from his family, although he admitted he was “glad to see my nan put her false teeth in”.

Derek was thrilled to hear his friends were looking forward to resuming their poetry readings together, while tea lover Eugene chuckled as his brother instructed: “Save me a cup of tea!”

Everyone was cheered by the message from Science’s father who advised him: “Keep it low”.

Derek quipped: “He’s obviously fed up with having to turn down the volume all the time.”

Vanessa was impressed by Craig’s message as she gasped: “It took me by storm”. However, she was less impressed by the hairdresser’s response.

“He seemed much happier that they mentioned Maxwell and Anthony than that they said they loved him,” she frowned.

The London student failed to grasp the importance of a “coded” message from her mother who told her: “Stop sleeping and eating.”

Several of the housemates have bitched that those are the only things that Vanessa does in the house.

Vanessa did not see the significance in her comments though as she asked Big Brother: “Shall I stop sleeping and eating so much?”.
