On A Clear Day

When you lose your job and life gets rough the obvious thing to do is, err, swim the English Channel.

Mullan, always good, is just such a man, and thus he gathers a group of pals to aid him in his life-altering challenge, which might also bring closure on the death by drowning of his son.

It's a film that can't quite make up its mind whether to be a serious search for the meaning of life or a comedy.

OK, so it's both; sort of. But it's passable and the playing is, as expected, strong.
