Harvey accident 'not sinister'
Hospitalised British pop star Brian Harvey insists there was nothing sinister about the events leading up to his near-fatal accident last month, which saw him fall under the wheels of his own Mercedes car.
The former East 17 singer was recently moved to London's St George's Hospital - which specialises in chest and abdominal injuries - to receive treatment for a broken leg, a shattered pelvis, severe abdominal injuries and fluid-filled lungs.
Harvey, who has been suffering from clinical depression, regained full consciousness last week - and has told his manager about the events leading up to the accident in a bid to quash press reports suggesting it was a suicide attempt.
Simon Harrison says: "Brian has had a series of recollections, but… it was nothing sinister. It is very positive… He is now in a normal ward.
"He could go home in a week, but it could be up to eight weeks. He is on the road to recovery, but they are long-term healing injuries."
Harvey was rushed to hospital last month (MAY05) after he collapsed at his home following an alleged overdose of sleeping tablets. The previous month (APR05) he was treated in a rehabilitation clinic for depression, but denied press reports he had attempted suicide.
