50 Cent pulls out of Live 8
Hip-hop star 50 Cent has dropped out of performing at the Live 8 concert in Philadelphia next month, because it clashes with work on his debut movie, Get Rich Or Die Tryin’.
The highly-anticipated follow-up to 1985's Live Aid will feature stars including U2, REM, Snoop Dogg, Madonna, Paul McCartney, Will Smith, Coldplay and Pink Floyd performing at simultaneous gigs in London, Berlin, Paris, Rome and Philadelphia.
But Candy Shop rapper 50 Cent is bowing out of the Philadelphia show because he's is in Toronto shooting the gritty movie, which is loosely based on his life.
Live 8 publicist Elizabeth Freund says additional announcements are planned for today to confirm the Philadelphia show's line-up, which includes Bon Jovi, the Dave Matthews Band, Jay-Z, Kaiser Chiefs, Keith Urban, Maroon 5, Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs, Rob Thomas, Sarah McLachlan and Stevie Wonder.
