Jordan to induct McCabe into Hall of Fame

Oscar-winning film director Neil Jordan will tonight induct Butcher Boy author Pat McCabe into the 2004 Hennessy Literary Awards Hall of Fame.

Oscar-winning film director Neil Jordan will tonight induct Butcher Boy author Pat McCabe into the 2004 Hennessy Literary Awards Hall of Fame.

Mr McCabe is the third recipient of the award, which has previously gone to writers Joseph O’Connor and Dermot Bolger.

Mr Jordan, who directed the 1997 film version of The Butcher Boy, will present the award to Co Monaghan-born Mr McCabe at an event in Dublin.

Mr Jordan has also directed McCabe’s latest book, Breakfast on Pluto which will be released this autumn.
