Bloc party, the Bravery, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, The Tears and Super Furry Animals have been confirmed for the upcoming Oxegen music festival in Punchestown Racecourse, Naas.
This will be the first appearance of these acts at the festival, apart from Super Furry Animals, who will be headlining the New Band Stage on Sunday. The Welsh quintet will be promoting their upcoming album, which lead singer Gruff Rhys claims "has an orchestral feel to it".
Fans of seminal 90’s alternative band Suede will be in for a treat as The Tears, comprising of the reformed songwriting partnership of Brett Anderson and Bernard Butler perform their first ever Irish gig, when they headline the New Band Stage on Saturday.
Also making their Irish debut at the two-day festival will be The Bravery. The band are currently touring the US and Europe with dates in New York , San Francisco , Berlin , Leeds.
Oxegen is Ireland ’s only multi stage music festival weekend, and is due to take place on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 July, subject to licence.
