Rock defends Oscar quips

Upcoming Oscars host Chris Rock is standing by controversial remarks he made calling the award ceremony a "fashion show" which holds no interest for black men unless they are gay.

The Head of State funnyman sparked a storm of controversy after his anti-Academy Awards tirade was published in US magazine Entertainment Weekly, but he remained unrepentant during an appearance on American chat show The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.
