Neeson set for Abraham Lincoln role

Ballymena-born Liam Neeson is to continue his career as a leading star of major screen bios.

He was nominated for a Golden Globe for his role as Stateside sex guru Alfred Kinsey in Kinsey, and got an Oscar nomination for playing Oskar Schindler in Steven Spielberg’s Schindler’s List.

Now the Ulsterman is to join up with Spielberg again, playing President Abraham Lincoln in the story of the American Civil War, based on a new book, The Uniter: The Genius of Abraham Lincoln, which the director has got the rights to.
