Ashanti cuts off fake friends

R&B singer Ashanti has shrunk her entourage after learning many of her employees "weren't who I thought they were".

The Foolish singer has written about her experience with false friends in a new song, Freedom, on her third album, Concrete Rose.

Ashanti explains: "I kinda found out the hard way that these people weren't who I thought they were. They had ulterior motives.

"I had to make my circle a little bit smaller, and it was hard because I never thought it would be those people."
