Lucy Liu to open Harrods new year sale

Actress Lucy Liu will open the famous new year sale at exclusive London department store Harrods next month.

The Charlie's Angels beauty will jet into London in time for the opening ceremony at 9am on January 3, where she will wear €3m worth of jewellery loaned to her by store owner Mohammed Al Fayed.

The 37-year-old enthuses: "I am truly honoured to be a part of it. Like many others I hope to pick up a few barg ains while I am there."

Celebrities including Christina Aguilera, Holly Valance, Goldie Hawn and Victoria Beckham have opened the sale in past years.
