50 Cent pleads not guilty to assault
50 Cent has pleaded not guilty to an assault charge stemming from an alleged altercation at a concert earlier this year.
The rapper, real name Curtis Jackson, was absent from the Springfield, Massachusetts, court on Monday, but his lawyer Steve Leary entered the not-guilty plea.
The incident occurred at the city's invite-only Spring Jam event on May 10. During his performance, 50 Cent was hit in the head by a water bottle thrown from the crowd and allegedly leapt into the crowd after the fan, leading to a brawl.
50 Cent is scheduled to appear at a pre-trial meeting on February 8.
