Holly hits out at Broadway

Actress Holly Hunter has slammed New York's Broadway stage as a "commercial venue" where a fear of failure dominates.

Hunter, who makes her debut on London's West End stage in By The Bog of Cats later this month, prefers acting in the capital because of its more "accepting" environment.

She said: "The West End is much more accepting of legitimate theatre than Broadway is. Broadway is more a commercial venue."
