Jamiroquai's race club with Floyd drummer

Jamiroquai star Jay Kay has struck up a friendship with Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason after discovering their joint obsession with racing cars.

The Virtual Insanity singer has frequently been in trouble with British police authorities over driving offences, and he is currently banned from driving for six months after being caught speeding at 169 kilometres per hour.

Mason says: "I spoke to Jay straight after the verdict. He knew he'd get banned this time so to cheer him up I told him we'd think about arranging a private race-off on private land in our Ferraris.

"The next thing I hear is he'd building a racetrack at his country pile. We're both likely to be going head to head driving in our brand new Ferrari Enzos. They cost £450,000 (€650,600) each and were limited to just 25 in number in the UK. To be honest, he's frightened that I'll win."
