Kristin Davis signed up by Maybelline

Kristin Davis has realised a childhood dream: she has signed up as the new celebrity face for cosmetics firm Maybelline.

The former Sex and the City star said she couldn't believe it when bosses asked her to star in their latest ad campaign.

She said: "It was very flattering. I'm a girly-girl and when I was little, in South Carolina, there wasn't a lot to do, and we would save up our little allowance and go to the drug store and get the new purple eyeshadow from Maybelline.

"It was one of those things where you never ever think that you'd be hired for such a thing... and it just worked out."
