Hollywood veteran Richard Gere is nursing a broken hand after a horse-riding accident, following his failure to heed his wife's good advice.

Corey Lowell told the Chicago actor to take a mobile phone with him when he went on a horse ride around the couple's estate in Westchester, New York, but he ignored her.
