RTÉ and Screentime ShinAwiL today announced the third series of You’re A Star and called on ambitious Irish musical hopefuls to audition this autumn for their chance to carve out a career in the music industry.

RTÉ’s You’re A Star Series 3 will see a completely new judging panel line-up with exciting new faces and a refreshed combination of experience in the music industry.

The new judges are: Dave Fanning, Barbara Galavan and Hazel Kaneswaran. The show will be presented by Ray D'Arcy again this year.

Audition locations and dates are as follows:

Limerick: LIT Millennium Theatre, Moylish Park on Sat, September 11. Auditions start at 9am, registration closes at 3pm.

Waterford: Garter Lane Theatre, 22a O’Connell Street on Saturday, September 18. Auditions start at 9am, registration closes at 3pm.

Sligo: Hawk’s Well Theatre, Temple Street on Saturday, September 25. Auditions start at 9am, registration closes at 3pm.

Dublin: Liberty Hall Theatre, Eden Quay on Tuesday, October 12. Auditions start at 9am, registration closes at 3pm.

Laois: Dunamaise Theatre & Centre for the Arts, Church Street, Portlaoise on Saturday, October 16 – bands only. Auditions start at 9am, registration closes at 3pm.

Bands will audition in one venue only, centrally located in Portlaoise for ease of access from most parts of the country - The Dunamaise Theatre & Centre will be equipped to accommodate all musical bands. Because of Eurovision Song Contest rules, bands need to number six or less members.

RTÉ’s You’re A Star Series 3 will run in the same format as Series’ 1 and 2 except songwriters from all genres and the writing of songs will feature unlike previous years. The winner(s) of ‘You’re A Star’ will go on to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest next May in the Ukraine.

The show will again take the headline slot on RTÉ every Sunday night for 17 weeks commencing November 2004.
