Gospel group sparks bomb scare

American gospel rockers The Polyphonic Spree sparked a bomb scare in Texas last week after security staff thought they had found explosives in their luggage.

A terminal area and five gates at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport were closed after a possible bomb was discovered in the luggage of percussionist Brian Teasley.

A bomb disposal team were rushed to the scene and a robot used to remove the offending bag.

The suitcase was then blasted with a water cannon to remove the object - which was discovered to be a custom-made Copperphone microphone.

A terrified Teasley was interrogated by government agents when he arrived home.

He explains: "All of a sudden, these cars block me in my driveway. They've all got tinted windows, X-Files-style.

"Then here comes one guy with a bullet-proof vest on, another with a gun showing. It was a very harrowing day."
